We have used the services of Arturo Jimenez and his company, Merlyn Construction, for two major projects in the past 11 years. The first one was in 2010 when we redid the back of our two-story building, which was built in the late 1890s. Arturo and his crew did a fantastic job replacing the siding, stairs, and upper and lower decks.
The second project was in 2017 when we replaced the stucco on the front and side of the building and, as is not uncommon in San Francisco, we unexpectedly found that bay window support work would also need to be done. Again, we were very satisfied with the high quality of the work. In between, we have used Merlyn Construction for lesser projects. We have always been very satisfied. Arturo was always very responsive, letting us know about costs and timing and answering any questions we had as the projects progressed.
Unlike other contractors who start a job and then disappear for unspecified amounts of time, Arturo was always there when he said he would be. Even when unexpected problems arose, he always kept us informed. I don’t think there is a more reliable, honest, hardworking contractor than Arturo Jimenez. We will always turn to Arturo and Merlyn Construction for any future projects.
